Here's the sequel to my previous post....Violation of students' economic rights is still a leading issue in most public schools in the country. It's understood that school funds should be primarily used for the learners' needs. But sad to say, this is seldom implemented in a number of schools. Let me cite concrete evidences.
a. STUDY NOW, SIT LATER. This remains a predicament of many learners. I have seen in one grade school classroom a desk is being shared by 3 or more pupils. In the school where I'm teaching, a number of students are seated on armless chairs. Some have to stand, because there are no more available seats for them.
b. The absence of potable water is also a major problem.
c. Many classrooms are not well-ventilated. Learners have to endure intense heat during sunny days.
d. There are also classrooms with no electrical connections. During cloudy or rainy days learners have to open their eyes wide so they would be able to see what's being written on the board.
e. There are times learners are deprived of their privileges to join seminars, competitions, and other activities due to outright declaration of non-availability of funds.
I'm really thankful for this chance to be able to put into words what I feel. I believe I'm not committing any criminal offense for telling the truth. We all know that truth sets us free. IF TRUTH HURTS, THEN LET IT BE!
