Frustrating Facts About Regular Philppine Public Schools

I have been with the public school system for about 16 years now. Unfortunately, I can say that the frustration level in regular public schools is very high. My intention in coming up with this article is not to scare or discourage anybody who is planning to join the system. This is a collection of my first-hand experiences, observations and stories relayed to me by some co-teachers.
Fact #1: A number of public school students give minimal attention to their studies. Some come to school empty-handed -- not even a pen or a piece of paper. Some are only visible on the campus during activities like intramural meet.
Fact #2: Lazy teachers are "abundant" in public schools. They are of different types.
Type A - Present on the campus but not attending their classes
Type B - Late in submission of reports/paper works (students' grades, DTR, etc.)
Type C - No lesson plan at all
Type D - Always tardy or always absent
Fact #3: Many parents are not supportive to the needs of their children. Here's an appropriate example as relayed to me by a co-teacher. One of her students asked for money to spend on her project in school. The mother replied, "PAMURING ARON MAKAPALIT KA UG PROJECT." (Literally..."GO SELL YOURSELF SO YOU CAN HAVE MONEY FOR YOUR PROJECT.")
Fact #4: Misuse/mismanagement of school finances is evident in public schools. There are a lot of instances wherein the students are deprived of their economic rights. More on this matter on the next post.....
